Calling all food enthusiasts and culinary artists! This competition celebrates the rich and diverse flavors of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Participants will prepare authentic dishes using traditional methods and ingredients.
Competition Categories:
- Rice & Curry: Traditional rice with multiple curry accompaniments
- String Hoppers & Kottu: Popular street food and breakfast items
- Traditional Sweets: Traditional Sri Lankan desserts and confections
- Regional Specialties: Unique dishes from different regions of Sri Lanka
Competition Format:
- Participants will have 2 hours to prepare their dishes
- All ingredients will be provided (special dietary requirements can be requested)
- Judges will evaluate taste, presentation, authenticity, and technique
- Live cooking demonstration for audience engagement
Prizes:
- 1st Place: $400 + Cooking Set + Certificate
- 2nd Place: $250 + Kitchen Tools + Certificate
- 3rd Place: $150 + Spice Collection + Certificate
All participants will receive a traditional Sri Lankan recipe book and cooking apron.
